Call for UK observers to EU election observation mission in Honduras

Following the EU Commission’s decision to deploy Long-Term Observers and Short Term-Observers for the EU EOM Honduras. WFD is now initiating the selection process for Long-Term and Short-Term Observers to observe Honduras’ General Elections on 26 November 2017.

To be considered as a Long-Term Observer (LTO), you must be available over the following dates (indicative):

Deployment, scheduled for:
21 October to 6 December 2017, for LTO teams
(Training session: 22 to 24 October 2017)

To be considered as a Short-Term Observer (STO), you must be available over the following dates (indicative):

Deployment, scheduled for:
20-29 November 2017, for STO teams
(Training session: 21-22 November 2017)

As per recommendation from the European Commission, we will be only proposing candidates certifying their full availability for the entire period of the mission.

If you would like to be considered for either position, submit your interest by sending a completed application form to election.observation@wfd.org by Monday 21 August (23:59 GMT). Please save your application as “YOUR SURNAME-Your-Name-LTO/STO/BOTH”. It is mandatory that you are also registered with the European Commission and that this information is kept up-to-date.

WFD will be submitting the names of up to 2 shortlisted candidates for the LTO position and up to 3 shortlisted candidates for the STO position to the EU Commission on Thursday 24 August 2017 before 23:59 GMT. The European Commission plans to inform selected LTO/STO by 4 September 2017.

Please note that only British nationals are eligible to apply, and the working language of the mission will in both Spanish and English. Therefore, it is a requirement of the post that the candidate has fluent written and spoken Spanish and English (both C1 level). Interviews will be scheduled for short-listed candidates between 22-24 August to test language fluency.
