Call for UK observers to EU election observation mission in Kosovo

Following the decision of the EU Commission to initiate the selection procedure for Long Term Observers and Short Term Observers for the EU election observation mission in Kosovo. WFD is now initiating the selection process for Long-Term and Short-Term Observers to observe Kosovo’s Municipal and mayoral elections scheduled to take place on 22 October and 19 November 2017.

To be considered as a Long-Term Observer (LTO), you must be available over the following dates (indicative):

  • 19 September 2017 to 28 November 2017, for most LTO teams
  • 19 September 2017 to 2 December 2017, for LTO teams assigned to the second round of mayoral elections

To be considered as a Short-Term Observer (STO), you must be available over the following dates (indicative):

  • 17-25 October 2017, for most STO teams
  • 15-22 November 2017, for STO teams assigned to the second round of mayoral elections

As per recommendation from the European Commission, we will only propose candidates who are available for the entire period of the mission.

If you would like to be considered for either position, please submit your interest by sending a completed application form to election.observation@wfd.org by Sunday 20 August (23:59 GMT). Please save your application as “YOUR SURNAME-Your-Name-LTO/STO/BOTH”
It is mandatory that you are also registered with the European Commission and that this information is kept up-to-date.

WFD will be submitting the names of up to 2 shortlisted candidates for the LTO position and up to 2 shortlisted candidates for the STO position to the EU Commission on Thursday 24 August 2017. The European Commission plans to inform selected LTO/STO by 20 August 2017.

Please note that only British nationals are eligible to apply, and the working language of the mission will be proficiency English.
