Programme Administrative and Finance Assistant – Sri Lanka

Contract type: Fixed term full-time -Contract for Services
Contract length: July 2019 – March 2021 (Subject to funding)
Starting salary: MONTHLY GROSS LKR 120,000 – Rs 135,000 pcm (depending on skills and experience)

The Programme

Westminster Foundation for Democracy’s (WFD) programme in Sri Lanka aims to support and strengthen the role and functions of Parliament, Parliamentary Committees, the Speaker’s Office and the rules and processes of Parliament and to promote multi-stakeholder engagement with Parliament.  WFD also supports Independent Institutions and Civil Society organisations.  In doing so, WFD works with parliamentarian officials in the UK and in Sri Lanka, independent institutions, civil society organisations and other stakeholders.  Gender equality, human rights, inclusivity and support for thematic areas wherever appropriate (e.g. reconciliation) are integrated in the work we do

Programme Administrative and Finance Assistant (PAFA)

The PAFA plays a critical role in assisting the Country Representative, working closely with the head office in London and our stakeholders, in the management of financial and administrative procedures for programmes. The PAFA will support WFD’s programmes in the Maldives and Sri Lanka.

In addition, this position takes responsibility for all logistics, general administrative and office management.

The core skills and experience we are looking for are;

  • At least 2 years financial management and budgetary experience
  • Advanced Excel with extensive use of SAGE and/or other accounting software packages
  • At least 2 years project management, administration, evaluation, monitoring experience
  • Strong communication relationship management skills with staff and a range of donors
  • First degree or similar, in a relevant discipline e.g. Business, Finance or Administration
