WFD has a significant portfolio of programmes in the region including in DRC, The Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Mozambique, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, South Africa and Uganda.  We also have plans for further programmes including in Ethiopia.

We are looking for an experience programme manager who is passionate about the region and with solid evidence of delivery parliamentary/political change programmes in an international landscape.

 

The Position

The Senior Programme Manager (SPM) supports the effective programming, monitoring and evaluation and business development across multiple programmes within the designated region of West and Central Africa (WCA).

The SPM has operational responsibility for programmes and field teams. They will oversee, backstop, support field terms in the implementation of programmes and build and maintain solid relationships at all levels ensuring WFD is placed as a key organisation in providing democracy and governance support in the region.

This is a maternity leave cover. Occasional international travel maybe required with this position.

 

We are keen to hear from you if you have:

Experience leading international governance programmes of scale with specific experience in designing and implementing; parliamentary, political party, civil society and/or elections programmes.

A sound understanding of parliamentary, political, civil society and electoral systems.

Regional experience, thorough knowledge of democracy assistance and understanding of the challenges of democratic progress in African countries.

Solid partnership and stakeholder management skills able to negotiate with senior officials, politicians and representatives of international organisations and NGOs.

Delivered financial reports and managed substantial budgets.

Delivered quality assessment and impact reports.

A degree in a relevant discipline such as political science, law, social development, public administration or international relations.
