Call for Long-Term and Short-Term Election Observers – Kosovo

Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD) is now initiating the selection process for Long-Term and Short-Term Observers to observe Early Parliamentary Elections in Kosovo.

Please note:

The Election Date is not set yet and possible dates would include the 22 September, the 29 September or the 06 October. Please be aware of the long time span during which you would have to be available for a specific period of time depending on your application as STO or LTO. Please read the below carefully.

  • To be considered as a Long-Term Observer (LTO), you must be available over the following dates (indicative):

Arrival in Pristina: 10 SEPTEMBER 2019

Departure to Europe: 22 OCTOBER 2019

Availability requested: 34 to 39 days within this period (depending on the election date). 

  • To be considered as a Short-Term Observer (STO), you must be available over the following dates (indicative):

Arrival in Pristina: 18 SEPTEMBER 2019

Departure to Europe: 09 OCTOBER 2019

Availability requested: 7 days within this period (depending on the election date)

As per recommendation from the European Commission, we will be only proposing candidates certifying their full availability for the entire period of the mission.

If you would like to be considered for the either position, please submit your interest by sending a completed application form (below) to election.observation@wfd.org. The deadline for applications is Monday, 26 August (12:00 GMT). It is mandatory that you are also registered with the European Commission and that this information is kept up-to-date.

WFD will be submitting the names of up to 2 shortlisted candidates for the LTO position and up to 3 shortlisted candidates for the STO position to the EU Commission on Wednesday 28 August – only shortlisted observers will be notified by 28 August CoB. The European Commission plans to inform selected LTOs and STOs by 02 September.

Please note that only British nationals are eligible to apply, and the working language of the mission will be English. Therefore, it is a requirement of the post that the candidate has fluent written and spoken Englsish (C1 level).

Please note that we will only be considering all the applications received before the deadline and only the shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
