Call for proposals: Consultancy for the production of disability adapted learning modules in Kenya

April 30th, 2021

WFD is seeking to engage a qualified and reputable independent contractor/firm to support the layout design, printing, and brailling of two disability adapted learning modules.

Context

Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD), through funding from Demo Finland, is implementing the Kenya Inclusive Political Parties (KIPP) Programme – which seeks to address the critical knowledge gaps within political parties to create and promote more inclusive political discourse, political commitments and policy making.

Through the KIPP programme, WFD Kenya has developed two sets of learning modules which will be used by various categories of persons with disabilities (PWDs) to access information on political participation and inclusion. In this regard, WFD seeks to engage a contractor/s to carry out an assignment on the designing and production of braille, large print, and normal prints of the two sets of manuals.

Requirements

The assignment will consist of:

  1. Designing reader friendly layouts of the modules guided by WFD required standards.
  2. Production or printing of the two sets of learning modules in normal and large print.
  3. Brailing the two sets of learning modules.

Key deliverables

The two sets of the training modules are not more than 50 pages each and include text and pictorials. The independent contractor will therefore be expected to:

  1. Deliver a total of 1200 copies of well-designed and laid out A4 size printed versions of the modules in normal prints.
  2. Deliver a total of 600 copies of well-designed and laid out A4 size printed versions of the modules in large print.
  3. Deliver a total of 20 brailed copies of the modules.

Duration of the assignment

This assignment will be conducted and completed within 7 days upon being awarded the contract.
