Call for applications – Anti-hate speech Training of Trainers for political stakeholders in Kyrgyzstan

June 01st, 2021

WFD is looking for a consultant to develop a Training of Trainers (ToT) manual on anti-hate speech for political stakeholders for our Media Dialogue programme in Kyrgyzstan.

Context

WFD, in consortium with four organisations, is implementing the EU-funded “Project in Support of Sustainable Media Sector Reform for Elections-related Conflict Prevention in Kyrgyzstan”. The Programme aims to strengthen the national media environment by engaging media outlets in Kyrgyzstan alongside public decision makers and civil society in a dialogue about the challenges facing the media sphere and by harnessing their potential in promoting media policy and legal framework reform in the sector. As part of it, WFD have been working with political parties, electoral candidates and the Electoral Commission to bolster efforts to eradicate hate speech, and more broadly violence during election campaigns.

Requirements

WFD would like to engage an international consultant to support our efforts to address hate speech and political violence during the electoral campaign and to:

  1. Develop a training of trainers (TOT) manual on hate speech that will be used to train local facilitators who will be delivering anti-hate speech learning events for political parties and candidates running in elections. The outline to be finalised with relevant WFD staff.
  2. Provide a ToT for local facilitators based on the prepared manual.
