WFD statement on the attack on Sir David Amess MP

October 15th, 2021

The tragic attack on Sir David Amess MP is shocking and horrifying.

MPs are entrusted with the duties and responsibilities that make democracy a reality. Meeting with constituents is one of the essential ways they do this and today’s attack means that we will need to work together even more intensively to ensure that they can continue to carry out their responsibilities safely.

Sir David’s loved ones are in our thoughts. We send them our sincerest condolences.
