Apply now to participate in Westminster Foundation for Democracy’s annual election observation training at our London Headquarters in May 2019.

The two training modules offer the latest insights into election observation methodology and will be tailored to your existing experience with separate sessions for short-term and long-term observers.

Run by well-reputed, international trainers using the recognised European Union official training body for election observation missions approach, the tailored courses are the perfect introduction for those completely new to election observation or for those looking to refresh their skills.

Why WFD?

At WFD we believe elections are a core process within democratic societies and provide an opportunity for important debates. Credible electoral processes are essential to restore trust in democratic institutions worldwide. 

One of the ways we support credible electoral processes, is through the recruitment and selection of UK election observers for European Union Election Observation Missions (EOMs), and as one of the service providers for OSCE/ODIHR missions.

Short-term observation

When: Monday 20 May – Tuesday 21 May

Where: WFD, Artillery House, 11-19 Artillery Row, London, SW1P 1RT

Cost: £140 (GBP)

A two-day session for short-term observer’s (STO) is suitable for people who have not participated in any short-term election observation missions before or who have participated in 1-2 STO missions.

Long-term observation

When: Wednesday 22 May – Friday 24 May

Where: WFD, Artillery House, 11-19 Artillery Row, London, SW1P 1RT

Cost: £210 (GBP)

A three-day session for long-term observer’s (LTO) is suitable for people who have been an STO on a minimum of 2 missions or who have participated in 1-2 LTO missions.

• WFD will NOT cover any costs for transportation, accommodation and visas or make the necessary arrangements.
