Inclusion

The situation before KIPP programme

The situational analysis conducted before KIPP concluded that the inclusion of persons with disabilities in the political parties in Kenya was inadequate and presented a gap concerning the civil and political and democratic rights of persons with disabilities as entrenched in the international and national legal instruments. Political parties were slowly trying to include persons with disabilities in their agenda in terms of policy and practice.

In the last 10 years in Albania, numerous short-term and long-term interventions (mainly funded by the donors) have been implemented by the civil society organization to advance advocacy actions in health care.

However, regardless of the success of isolated interventions, there is still much to do to create a culture of bottom-up influencing approaches. Health advocacy is a long process and takes into consideration different actors and factors among which are the social determinants of health and health inequities.
