WFD in Serbia has published a ”Guide to Digital Political Communication” which provides instructions on the different modes of digital communication for the content that political parties produce, aiming to help them improve their communication with the younger population. A short video was also created to depict how vital it is to learn the digital language and to accentuate the importance of digital communication for political parties. The guide points to the importance of standing out, and at the same time stresses out the principle of integrity which should help parties in showing sincerity and sternness while remaining informative and attractive in communicating with the audience.

A special guest of the event was the Chargé d’Affaires of the UK to the Republic of Serbia, Ms Rebecca Fabrizi, who spoke about the importance of youth participation in decision making and policymaking in the political life in the country. Emphasizing the importance of politicians’ civic responsibility, she pointed out the importance of dialogue among opposing political ideas. Ms. Fabrizi reminded the participants of the importance of the target audience when communicating online and conveying messages and content in general.

One the event, WFD invited 20 young participants who have been active in various Serbian CSOs youth programs and projects, but have not been politically affiliated, to provide their inputs, comments and exchange with political party representatives. The event was moderated by the renown Serbian journalist Suzana Trninic who facilitated the debate among the young people and seniors from political parties in the country.
