Bonifasia Mapunda is a Tanzanian politician and senior officer in the Secretariat of the Alliance for Change and Transparency party (ACT Wazalendo), where she also serves as a Deputy Head of International Office. Bonifasia is an Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania and subordinate courts thereto.
As Deputy Head of ACT Wazalendo’s International Office, Bonifasia plays a vital role in linking the party with international and regional organisations and stakeholders, as well as other political parties and civil movements, organisations and institutions which defend and promote civil and political rights. She also links the party with international media and diaspora and serves as the party’s chief spokesperson for all international affairs.
Bonifasia is an alumna of the University of Dar es Salaam and the Law School of Tanzania where she graduated with Bachelor of Laws and Post-Graduate Diploma respectively.
Bonifasia ran to be a Member of Parliament in Tanzania’s 2015 and 2020 elections. Her dream is for ACT Wazalendo to form the center of a new government that will put in place a constitutional and legal framework that facilitates and enables citizens of Tanzania to enjoy civil and political rights to their fullest.
