How we are funded

The Westminster Foundation for Democracy receives core funding from the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) and is accountable to Parliament for its expenditure.

Annual Reports and Accounts

WFD’s Annual Report and Accounts each covering one financial year (1 April to 31 March of the following calendar year) audited by the UK Comptroller and Auditor General are presented to the UK Parliament annually, usually in July.

Board interests and gifts

Members of the non-executive WFD Board of Governors are required to declare any interests, travel or gifts that may conflict with their role. Membership is voluntary and not remunerated.

Declarations are published annually and are available for consultation using the following links:

Senior staff remuneration and expenses

Details about salary and expenses for the most senior staff employed by WFD are listed in the remuneration report which is published within our Annual Report and Accounts (above). Senior staff includes those members of staff whose grade is equivalent to UK Civil Service grades SCS1 and above.

A log of senior staff expenses is also accessible here. Please note, WFD pay policy does not provide for allowances of any kind to be paid in addition to, or as part of, salaries.
