WFD and Morocco's House of Representatives have officially launched an Environmental Democracy programme to enhance parliamentary engagement in climate action.
WFD, in collaboration with the Moroccan House of Representatives, is empowering the youth for evidence-based policy change through the Youth Inclusion Programme.
Realising international environmental treaties such as the Paris Climate Agreement requires the translation of these commitments into domestic laws and regulations by democratic means. WFD Morocco and Lebanon supported democratic oversight of climate legislation.
On International Women's Day 2022, WFD launched a 12-month-long project aimed to advance women's political participation and leadership in the Moroccan House of Representatives. One year down the line – as we celebrate International Women’s Day in 2023 – we look at the outcomes achieved through this Canadian Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) supported programme.

Right before the pandemic closed the airways, in February this year, I had the privilege of speaking at an event hosted by the House of Representatives to discuss the work of their Petitions Committee. The event was attended by the Speaker, parliamentarians and a wide range of civil society organisations and diplomatic agencies eager to participate in discussions on how the Parliament of Morocco can proceduralise public petitions effectively.

On 26 January 2017, Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the House of Councillors of the Moroccan Parliament during a conference on climate change legislation.
