WFD is seeking a consultant/firm to conduct qualitative research on the cost of politics of inclusive political participation in the Solomon Islands.
Youth is an essential part of every country's social and political future. However, there is often a need for more focus on what the youth's role in the social and political present. WFD researched the role young people had in the Montenegrin elections of 2020 and summarised our conclusions.

There is a global crisis in political finance, where malign interests can distort democratic processes through unregulated donations and foreign interference. New Standards for Integrity in Political Finance, however, are already influencing reforms and WFD is supporting their implementation. By addressing corruption and financial barriers in politics, these standards can restore public trust and ensure democracy represents all citizens, not just those with financial power.

Ensuring that women and minority groups in Bangsamoro have political voice and meaningful representation is essential to enable the autonomous region to transition into a working democratic entity. In support of this vision, WFD recently held a Strategic Planning Workshop on Political Advocacy for members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) Social Welfare Committee (SWC) in Bangsamoro. From 11th – 13th August 2021, 20 members of the SWC gathered for the event which took place in Isulan town, Sultan Kuarat.
Disability inclusion promotes democracy. To promote a consistent approach to inclusion of persons with disabilities in political party activities in Kenya, a document containing minimum standards on disability inclusion has been developed. This is through a WFD and Demo Finland facilitated a participatory working session with representatives from disability rights civil society organizations, disabled persons organizations, and political parties. These representatives have identified and brainstormed on the critical aspects/domains that political parties should focus on to improve their disability inclusion efforts.

WFD’s work with Kenyan political parties, funded by Demo Finland, helped ensure persons with disabilities (PWDs) are included in political parties’ governing committees.
