A new constitution was introduced in Algeria in February 2016. This paved the way for more engagement with the public as new powers were given to the parliament. WFD’s work in Algeria is designed to support the Algerian Parliament in developing the skills to put these new powers into practice.
The cost of politics is how much it costs to run for office and the funds you need to maintain that office. WFD is leading efforts to investigate and address the cost of politics across more than 40 countries.

WFD supported the development of a free mobile app which improves the openness and transparency of the Sierra Leone Parliament. The app enables citizens to follow what the parliament is doing and get more involved in politics.
Ukraine is fighting not just for its independence, but also for its democratic future. WFD is proud to stand by Ukraine to protect its democratic gains and consolidate reforms, as it continues to withstand Russian aggression and embarks on the EU accession process.
